The main theme of our research program is the application of synthetic organic chemistry to the study of molecular assemblies, molecular information, and bio-organic/biomaterials science. Current work is focused in four main areas: (i) the design and synthesis of novel self-organizing molecular systems, (ii) the design and synthesis of topologically interesting organic molecules, (iii) the design and synthesis of novel cyclophane-based host-guest systems, (iv) ab initio and hybrid QM/MM methods of modeling noncovalent interactions and protein-substrate binding. | |
